How We Work With You

You are not figuring this out alone. Here's what it looks like when we work through it together.

You don't need to have everything figured out before you start.

Step 1 of 5
Meet Our Career Counselors

You Don't Have to Figure Out School Alone.

Steady Student Career Counselors bring experience from college admissions and student support across traditional and non-traditional education pathways — including universities, community colleges, four-year institutions, career colleges, vocational schools and trade schools.

No pressure to enroll. No expectation that you have everything figured out. Let's start with where you are.

Which path are you considering?

Either one is a fine place to be right now.

Traditional College Path

Universities • Community Colleges • Four-Year Institutions

Traditional colleges can have specific academic, transfer and admissions requirements that need to be completed before applying.

Our Career Counselors can help you understand those requirements, organize what you still need and prepare for your next step.

What we can help you figure out:

  • Academic requirements
  • Transfer preparation
  • Application readiness
  • What's still missing
  • Your next step

We can't guarantee acceptance — but we can help you become more prepared before you apply.

Career & Trade School Path

Career Colleges • Vocational Schools • Trade Schools

Career and trade schools often have a more straightforward admissions process. Their Admissions Representatives can help you understand their programs, requirements, schedules, financial aid process and student services.

But choosing a school involves more than qualifying for admission.

Your Steady Student Career Counselor can help you think through the decision before you make the commitment.

Let's look at the whole picture:

  • Can I realistically afford this?
  • Does the schedule work with my life?
  • How will I get to school?
  • What about childcare?
  • Is this career actually right for me?
  • What happens after graduation?

Two kinds of help — both useful.

Benefits of Being an Official Steady Student

Your support shouldn't stop at career advice.

As an Official Steady Student, you gain access to a growing network of resources, opportunities, and support our team is actively working to secure for students.

We're building Steady Student to become a reliable place students can turn when they need additional support getting to — and through — their next step.

As our network grows, your resources grow with it.

Your Student Resource Hub

Your Resources. One Place.

After meeting with their Career Counselor and discussing their goals, concerns, and potential barriers, Official Steady Students can access applicable resources and opportunities directly from their dashboard.

Students should be able to review available resources and request additional information or guidance from their Career Counselor about how a resource may apply to their situation.

Transportation Support

Coming Soon

Getting to school shouldn't be the hard part.

Transportation shouldn't be what keeps you from moving forward.

We're developing transportation resources designed around the needs of students traveling to school, career training, clinical experiences, and other education-related commitments.

Childcare Resources

In Development

Going Back to School When You're a Parent Takes More Planning.

For parents, returning to school means figuring out much more than tuition and class schedules.

We're working to develop childcare partnerships and resources that may help eligible Steady Student parents explore more manageable childcare options while attending school or career training.

Partner Opportunities

Growing

More Partners Can Mean More Opportunities for Students.

As Steady Student's network of schools, employers, businesses, and community partners grows, Official Steady Students may gain access to additional resources and opportunities made available through those partnerships.

Sponsorship-Based Education Grants

Your Career Could Have Someone Willing to Invest in It.

Paying for school can be one of the biggest barriers to getting started — or completing the education needed for a new career.

Steady Student is working to build partnerships with businesses and organizations interested in financially supporting students pursuing specific career pathways.

Illustrative Example — Not a Current Grant Opportunity

Career Path: Dental Assisting

Sponsor Commitment: $10,000

Students Selected: 2

Potential Award: $5,000 per selected student

Your information, your timing

Explore Without Opening the Floodgates.

Building your Career Path or exploring schools does not automatically give every school permission to contact you.

Your information remains within your Steady Student experience unless and until you intentionally choose an applicable connection step.

  • Explore schools privately
  • Compare your options
  • Save schools you're considering
  • Meet with your Career Counselor
  • Decide when you're ready for a school conversation

Browsing is not consent to be contacted.

We plan. Then we move.

Your Time Matters. So Does Your Progress.

We don't want you scheduling appointment after appointment without moving forward.

Your Career Counselor will help you create realistic next steps, and each conversation should move you closer to your goal.

We're here to provide information, resources, perspective, and encouragement — and we'll celebrate every step forward with you.

  1. Plan
  2. Act
  3. Check In
  4. Progress

You bring the goal. We'll help you build the next steps.

Then, When You're Ready, Talk to the School.

Once you understand what you're looking for, you can have a very different conversation with a school.

You'll know your priorities.

You'll know your questions.

You'll know what you're comparing.

And you'll know who you're talking to.

Only when you're ready

Ready to Talk to a School?

Know Who You're Talking To.

Admissions counselors visible to students on Steady Student must verify access to an official email associated with the school displayed on their profile. This gives prospective students an additional layer of confidence when they're ready to connect.
